Sunday Morning Meeting Space!
One of our primary prayer requests has been for God to provide the right meeting space. Specifically, we’ve been looking for a space that is:
Within our “parish boundaries” (ie., south of Braddock Rd, inside Fairfax County Parkway)
The right size (ie., some room to grow, but not so big it feels empty)
Adequate space for Kids Ministry (ie., a place for a nursery and for pre-school/elementary kids)
Aesthetically pleasing (after all, we are Anglicans — beauty matters to us!)
Within our budget
Yesterday, we put down a deposit on a rental space — praise the Lord! This Fall, most Sunday mornings (like many rental spaces, there are a few Sundays we’ll need to be “flexible”), we’ll be meeting at The Woods Community Center in Burke Centre!
This space has classroom space downstairs for Kids Min, a room down the hall from this main space we can use as a nursery, and a playground/basketball court/pickleball courts right outside, and we have it from 9am - 1pm. We’re one step closer!
Help Us Outfit the Space!
Now that we have a space, we need to gather the accoutrements necessary for worship and Kids Ministry. Everything we need for public worship is listed here. Many of you have already graciously given towards this, and we are so grateful! But there is still a ways to go, especially when it comes to sound equipment. You can see what we still need (and give a tax deductible gift towards these things) here — we’re about 1/3 of the way there. If you are able to help send us into this new mission and new season by giving towards, you can do so below.
Upcoming Events
We’re slowing down a bit this summer as people travel, but we do still have a handful of things going on, from an upcoming dinner, to evening prayer and a campfire. You can find the calendar here and all that at more at our church center.
Lastly, don’t forget to follow us on Instagram, and please keep praying!!
In Christ,
Rev. Mike Seawright
Praise the Lord indeed! Your space is beautiful with light, looks clean and fresh too. Thank you, God! You are Faithful and True.
Congratulations, Rev. Mike Seawright!
